Demographically, Fairview Township is majority Caucasian, with 98.16% of the
population White.  The rest of the population is 0.56% Asian, 0.53% African
American, 0.08% Native American, 0.14% from other races, and 0.53% from
two or more races.  Hispanic or Latino of any race make up 0.68%
of the population.

Fairview is said to have derived its name from Colonel Thomas
Forster in 1797, who supposedly said, "This is the fairest view I
have seen yet."
