Established in 1910, Lawrence Park is a township on the east side of Erie
County that was formed as the General Electric plant was being built.  The
township received its name from a Commander during the War of 1812 of the
USS Chesapeake, James Lawrence.

Lawrence Park Township has 1,547 households and a total population of
4,048 that is spread over 1.9 square miles.   The median income in the
township for a household is $40,625, while $46,944 is the median income for
a family.  The per capita income in Lawrence Park is $19,311.

The township's racial breakdown is mostly Caucasian, with
98.67% of the population being White, while African Americans
make up 0.5 percent.   Hispanic or Latino of any race are 0.8% of
